Australian Politicians on Notice
I seriously hope Pauline Hanson and One Nation will put a stop to all this!!!
Tomorrow (New Years' Day) will be a very *sad* day for pensioners - the most vulnerable members of our society (the elderly, people with disabilities and chronic illnesses, and especially those with mental illnesses), those who have fought in wars, worked hard (for the most part), and now they are in their 'twilight years', deserve some respite.
I am not sure why, but anyone with assets over $800,000 may well face the risk of having their pensions cut or taken away completely. And this law is to take effect tomorrow.
This makes me wonder what *any* of the major parties are doing to protect our most vulnerable members of society.
And never mind about the pollies themselves - they avail themselves of every possible pay rise and/or benefit that comes with the job.
It also serves as a warning to younger, more 'able' people to 'make hay while the sun shines' for them - that is, work hard, put away money for a 'rainy' day, into their superannuation, and (if necessary) take out income protection insurance.
And right now, it is 'trendy' to feel sorry for refugees, Muslims, people of colour, LGBT+ and any other groups or individuals that the 'do-gooders' and bleeding hearts feel sorry for, but noone cares about the 'not so trendy' groups that have done the hard yards.
So, yes, it is a *very* sad day in political history.
(no) cheers,
Night Owl 💔
