A very successful campaign in the UK

Hate crimes against goths, punks and emos gets recognized

If anyone remembers the murder of Sophie Lancaster (in the UK) - the goth girl who died of horrific head injuries in 2007 after she and her boyfriend were beaten up in a park by some youths - well, now the Greater Manchester Police (in the UK) recognize crimes against people from Alternative subcultures to be hate crimes.

This is due to the hard work of Sophie's parents, who led a very successful campaign to stamp out hate crimes against such people.  Congratulations to them, and I hope more parents of such victims get on board such campaigns (or even start one of their own).

This law has not yet been enforced nationwide in England, or in any other country, but I hope pray that it does.

cheers,
Night Owl
