WHITE WOMEN ARE NO LONGER ALLOWED TO WEAR HOOP EARRINGS – BECAUSE RACISM, APPARENTLY

MARCH 8, 2017

This article appears on the website of Milo Yiannopoulis, a.k.a 'The Dangerous Faggot'.  I am sharing this article via Blogger because there was a situation where 'women of colour' were demanding that 'white women' remove their hoop earrings (apparently a symbol of oppression amongst women of colour, i.e. women with dark skin who also happen to be African-American or Latina).

The article then says that at Pitzer College (California), a group of Latina and/or African American students were insisting that white female students should not wear hoop earrings because they didn't create the 'culture of coping'.  Here is the citation by
If you didn’t create the culture as a coping mechanism for marginalisation, take off those hoops, if your feminism isn’t inter-sectional take off those hoops, if you try to wear mi cultura when the creators can no longer afford it, take off those hoops, if you are incapable of using a search engine and expect other people to educate you, take off those hoops, if you can’t pronounce my name or spell it… take off those hoops/I use “those” instead of “your” because hoops were never “yours” to begin with.
Uhhhmmmm - very interesting (me thinks)!!!

Mind you, I would love to know what they would make of the 'Chav' women in the UK, many of whom tend to wear hoop earrings too!!!

It only seems like yesterday that Miley Cyrus (daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus) copped a real roasting for her 'twerking' movements onstage, and this gave rise to the term 'Columbus-ting' (another term for misappropriation).

And if you wish to split hairs, you could probably scold Rhianna, Beyonce, Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, even 'Sylvester' (if you can remember his/her song, 'You make me feel' back in 1979).  These people had adopted 'white characteristics' e.g. dying one's hair a lighter colour, having 'pale' skin and 'Caucasian' features, wearing PVC 'leather', and playing 'Flying-V' guitars (yes, Rhianna, I am talking to you).

Why isn't anyone from the African American community threatening to 'roast' their arses for 'trying to be white'?  Snoop Dog, where were you when these 'people of colour' were trying to 'pass the paper bag test' but you want to 'roast' the arses of African Americans playing in a marching band at Trump's inauguration?

And before I get off my soapbox, aren't you 'megastars' copying off 'white' (i.e. non-black) artists who have adopted certain trademarks a long time ago - Gene Simmons's tongue, the Flying V guitar (Judas Priest, Accept, The Scorpions), the leather and/or S&M gear, blonde and/or red hair - the list goes on?

Being a white person who has grown up with Metal, Punk and Hard rock and came from a 'working class' (or lower middle class) background, this may (or may not) had me 'marginalised' myself.  To me, this means I have adopted this 'coping mechanism' as a response to my own 'marginalisation', and I strongly resent those people (non-metallers) who have 'stolen' my own 'thunder' and that of my own idols from way back.

So, as a 'white girl' I don't even wear hoop earrings in the first place, so maybe Rhianna should remove her PVC outfits, put away the Flying-V guitar and stop singing about bondage, because you are doing neither side a favour, least of all your own people.

Anyway, if you want the full article, go to Claremont Independent and feel free to read it and tell me what you make of it.

Cheers,
Night Owl
