So yes, continuing on from the last post, this pseudo-intellectual armchair socialist is doing *alot* of people, particularly alot of young people, a disservice.
But no, some people are *all talk* and no action - getting others fired up unnecessarily and alot more adopting the victim mentality; while *rabble rousers* like this guy sit on their bums for the rest of the life, continuuing to reap the benefits of the taxpayer (via their salaries and now their pensions), and if he *really* cared about the Native Americans, African Americans or any other group, then he should volunteer his time and help either the refugees or other migrants that have come for a better life, or the Indigenous people who continue to experience the legacy of Colonialism; or go to another country and volunteer his time there.
After all, how has *hating* us Whites helped anyone, let alone the people who are *supposed* to be hating us most of all? It has achieved nothing - and the people who talk about 'racism' the most are often the people who do the least amount to help.
cheers,

- Firstly, this statement is *unfair* to many white people - especially to those who have worked hard to get where they are. And suppose one is white *and* male - we don't know the other cards they may have been dealt - they might have a disability/mental illness/autism/homosexuality, be from a working class background, from a 'white' race that might be afforded less respect (like the Irish, for instance), or from another religion. But, no doubt, this silly old fuddy duddy with his 'Utopian' ideals, is still enjoying his position of 'power and privilege' in academia (and the benefits that go with it), while *kicking the ladder down* for other, less privileged whites
- Secondly, he is giving alot of young people of colour (espeically young African and Native American people) false hope - they will mistakenly believe that the world will be a better place *without* 'full-blooded' White people. No, sorry it won't - but if his prophecy were to happen and all the worlds White (and presumably, Christian) people were to go, who will they have a bee in their bonnets against next? Jews? Asians? Maybe even Muslims themselves (who are not exactly fans of non-Muslims right now)? I doubt very much if the Native Americans (particularly the *scantily clad* Apaches) would take too kindly to being asked to cover up more than what their tribal customs would dictate.
- Thirdly, would he either (a) kill himself, or (b) work in one of those 'death camps' like many 'non-Aryans' had to during WW2 - and I don't think he would like that very much, now would he (being white *and* male himself).
And yet, the students (being the *sheeples* they are) actually applauded him. He also added that noone contradicted him or complained about him? Why is that?
I would dearly love to hear from the ones who didn't agree with him - why they didn't talk back to this *useless* demagogue? Where they 'shot down' (i.e. heckled) by the more 'conforming' students when they tried to speak out? Did he ridicule them when they tried to express an opinion different to his? Maybe even threaten them?
Or maybe they have taken these lectures as what they are - pointless shit-stirring, left-wing bullying which does nothing to help anyone; and therefore don't even want to give this dogmatic prat any more importance than he deserves???

This person is probably retired now, comfortably off with his nice, handsome pension, and maybe even living in a nice mansion in the country and driving a 4WD somewhere.
The sad thing is that I had to 'unfriend' a person who shared this link: this person happens to be a Native American himself, of the Lakota Oglala 'nation' himself, and living on one of the most *disadvantaged* reservations in the whole of the USA, and still bearing the legacy of what happened in that part of the world many years' ago. I unfriended him (on Facebook and then on Google+) because I firstly find that sort of thing *really* depressing - and a few months' ago, he wrote that feminism was 'White Privilege' (and this was the real 'red flag' for me, coming from a person who condemns inequality in all its other forms). I think the guy has enough hang-ups and problems of his own without me adding to them (which I probably would end up - inadvertently - doing if I were to remain his friend).
And the irony of the situation is that this reservation (Pine Ridge) and the state (South Dakota), have some of the highest youth suicide rates in the whole US, as well as the highest unemployment rates, higher rates of alcoholism, lower GDP per capita, higher child poverty rates, and more substandard living conditions, than the national average. Not to mention that at least *one in three* Native American women will be *raped* in their lifetimes. How much is still attibutable to White people, and how much is continuuing amongst themselves, I don't know.
But like most Indigenous groups (including the Australian Aboriginies), I do know that White people have an obligation to do their bit to help them and repair (as much as we can) the damage inflicted by our ancestors, on their cultures. We promise to help, but *fail to* keep our promises. As the Christian Science Monitor has stated: 'we treat our refugees better than what we treat these people', and this rings as true in Australia as in America (see this article for more information on the Native American situation; and this one on Pine Ridge in particular). After reading this article, I was reminded of an episode I saw on Message Stick (a program about Aboriginal people on the ABC), and one of the interviewees (who was an Aboriginal man who converted to Islam) said he was treated better as a Muslim than what he was as an Aboriginal. That is really sad!!!
However, back to this demagogue psuedo intellectual: what is *he* doing to help those of colour and of lesser privilege? Has he ever gone to Pine Ridge and tried to help the Natives over there? Has he tried to help any of the African Americans in any city, especially when Hurricane Katrina hit the 'deep South'? Has he ever gone to Africa? The Middle East? Asia? Australia (to help the Aboriginies)? Chances are he probably hasn't?
