Being the self-confessed 'bookworm' that I am, I love reading. While I like fiction, I like non-fiction even more. And what good is a blog without a book review or two, or three (or even more).
And more often than not, anyone who loves books is a target of bullying, especially at school when most kids are expected to play sport (or flirt with the opposite sex). Or if they are 'intellectuals'.
While I wasn't bullied so much because of my interest in reading (in fact, alot of people thought I was 'dumb'), there are others who have been.
And, secondly, my having been bullied has also prompted me to seek out suitable books on the subject, alongside other books on psychology, popular psychology, mental illness, self-help, social issues and the like.
So, my next entry will be the first book review on Evelyn Field's 'Bully Busting: How to help children deal with teasing and bullying'.
