OMG where do I start....There's been a few things said about the rock scene lately that is really getting to my nerves and I had to get this off my chest....
Despite the fact one of my dad's favourite bands is ACDC he was being a bit of a smart ass to me and my cousin when he tried to prove rock bands don't last long.... so he asked "Name one band that has lasted over 10 years..... As much as I love my dad, my cousin and I shot him down in flames as the list went on: ACDC, motley crue, gunners, iron maiden, judas priest, bonjovi, kiss, dokken, megadeth, metallica, skid row.... omg the list just goes on.
DANCE PEOPLE: Can you name any pop group who has been going for nearly twenty years, still producing albums to this day AND DOES NOT USE MUSIC ENHANCING to make themselves sound good. Another point of mine: half of it is remixes and voice enhancing effects to the point where I reckon with the technology they use I could probably come out with a number one and make a quick million myself!
THE IMAGE THING: If u have a look at these dance videos it's all promoting ALL THINGS FAKE and I for one have had enough of it. And, it's ok for them to dance in next to nothing but when us rock chicks get glammed up in leather and pvc we're sluts!!!
ROCK N ROLL = SEX AND DRUGS: Ok, so there's some of that in ever scene but I have to say, my friends and I feel far more safe at either a bikey's (even if hell's angels are present!) club or metal club....
WHY? Coz in the dance clubs every time I have been to a dance club there is always someone being dragged out by security and I can't remember the last time I saw this at a metal or rock club. Or there is always some YOUNG girl crying as she's sprawled out on the bathroom floor coz she's coming down from taking an E. I have also never seen THAT in a metal club. Out of all the people I know who do drugs, most are NOT in the rock scene.
Assuming I'm a slut coz of how I dress and coz most of my friends are male, or that I do drugs coz I listen to rock n roll is about as ridiculous as assuming a person is gay coz he's a hairdresser.
People think metal is all darkness and again to some extent it is..... I would argue it's actually healthier to face the dark side of it than to deny the darkness. Darkness is part of life it's not all roses. Let's not forget despite this some of the greatest ballads ever written are rock......
The talent of these rock musicians are vastly misunderstood I believe by those who do not get rock.... rock artists have been learning their skill for 10 years + whilst so called dance groups have just computerised most of their songs in a day or something lol.... or taking past hits and making them their own.... Last but not least, DJ's who "DJ" by mixing music up which again is not their own.... please, don't even get me started...... true definition of a successful artist to me is someone who is producing their OWN music..... we can ALL mix music.....
Anyway, these are just some of the stuff I wanted to write about this issue and I'm sure I will think of more later!!!

Response - I don't get 'dolled up' like Laine does, but people still treat me differentlty because I wear dark clothes (and especially if I wear bad t-shirts). It also doesn't help that I also have pale skin and dark hair (like a goth).
